Waterloo Bridge is a road and foot traffic bridge crossing the River Thames in London, England between Blackfriars Bridge and Hungerford Bridge. The name of the bridge is in memory of the British victory at the Battle of Waterloo in 1815. Thanks to its location at a strategic bend in the river, the views of London (Westminster, the South Bank and London Eye to the west, the City of London and Canary Wharf to the east) from the bridge are widely held to be the finest from any spot at ground level. Q. Do you think Pop Music has evolved progressively since that period ? Although you probably wouldn't call "You Really Got Me Going" a Pop Song anyway, would you ? Ahh Will,I heard it in the car blasting on the way home with the sun setting..I just Smiled. Hey Silver Wolf..nowhere is anymore..it's all changed..we were there in Dec '95 and walked across it and started singing that song from our childhoods..ahhh! Hey Mac..Where you been? Well,I hope. As a matter of fact, I couldn't tell you how many times I saw that sunset( I managed the bars in the Olivier part of the NT for 2 years from 21-23 years of age). From Borough High Street, take Great Suffolk Street (west side of the High Street, just south of the main tube exit); at junction with Southwark Bridge Road, take left fork opposite you onto Webber Street; keep going, crossing Blackfriars Road, until you hit The Cut. You'll be right at the west end of The Cut, where it joins Waterloo Road; you'll be able to see the station entrance from there. Shouldn't take more than 15 minutes. Answered by Raymond - Fri Nov 28 12:21:32 2008 Where is a good bar / pub in London for a 50th birthday party?
Q. We were thinking of a bar where you can get food, or a pub. Don't want to pay to hire somewhere out but don't mind paying a deposit, as we accept that at the end of November (when it will be) there will be lots of Christmas bookings already and we probably won't get anywhere without a deposit. Ideally London Bridge/Waterloo areas; would also look at other central locations. We are not sure of numbers as yet, but it's likely that there will be anywhere between 20 and 40. Waterloo: The old fire station, Waterloo rd Further in: you certainly will not do any better than the Dover street wine Bar, Dover street W1. It's a regular haunt for your type of event, and age group, and consists of everything you'll need for a great night out, trust me, i go there on a regular basis, and i also take people there.
