what is the best map measurer for walkers?
Q. I want to be able to measure how far I've walked by using a map measurer on the map. I've seen digital and analgogue ones available at different prices - any ideas which is the best?

A. Simplest way is to use a piece of yarn and follow the path you have taken on the map, then compare it to the scale measure printed on your map. You can also do the same by marking it off on the edge of a piece of paper - why spend good money on a gadget that you might not get good use from?

A. If you just want the "picture" of the map and not the interactivity, it is very easy. Go top the map in your browser and hit Print Screen on your keyboard. It should be somewhere in the upper right corner. If you are on a laptop, you may need to use the function key when doing a Print Screen. That takes a "snapshot" of the whole screen and puts it in the clipboard. So then go to the PowerPoint file and Paste (ctrl+V). It will drop in the whole image and you can use the crop tool to get rid of the stuff you don't want.

It would be acceptable to have directions to the reception available at the church for those who need them. Who leaves home for a wedding without knowing where they're going? Believe me, it's just one more itty-bitty detail that you shouldn't have to worry about.

Q. Hi there, I have placed a google map into a how to find us section on a webpage I am making, but when I put the
element for it in there, the whole web page shifts to the left by a few pixels. I have tried different positioning on it but nothing seems to help. How can I fix this problem?

A. Hi, it seems more a problem of styles than HTML programming (check the margin, padding and border properties as they are displayed differently in the different browsers). Also, don't take this question bad, I know it can sound really silly: is the page shifting to the left because the vertical scroll-bar is shown? (this woukd be a problem in Firefox only, not in IE). It would be easier to find out the problem if we could see the page, could you put a link to the website? Thanks
